Моей дочке 6.5. Она в первом классе и только-только начала читать. Хотелось бы подарить ей книжки на Новый Год, что нибудь интересное и довольно простое, чтобы она могла читать сама. Нашла на Амазоне такие серии: Judy Moody и Ivy and Bean. Кто нибудь знаком с этими книжками? Можете посоветовать что нибудь из этих или какие нибудь другие про приключения маленьких девочек?

Товарищи родители, у которых дети ходят в школу в форме. Сколько маечек/рубашек у вас есть в обиходе?

У нас такая форма - белый или голубой верх, внизу либо синие штаны, либо юбка или сарафан в сине-голубую клетку. На верхем слое одежды необходима вышивка логотипа школы. То есть, либо на сарафане, либо на майке, либо на кофте поверх майки. Собираюсь купить майки под сарафан (без лого) в другом магазине, ибо дорого на ЛЕ закупаться.
Сколько посоветуете купить маек - и с лого и без, и с длинным рукавом и с коротким? Я уже запуталась :((

Я думала взять где-то по 3 без лого (длинные и короткие), 2 с лого и нарядную рубашку с лого. Плюс штаны, юбку, сарафан, кофту на молнии и всякие леггинсы-колготки-гольфы в цветовой гамме.

Эти формы нам в копеечку вылетают, конечно.

Мы попали в новую чартерную школу Parnassus Prep. Школа открывается в этом году, так что стремно принимать решения, не зная, как все будет. С другой стороны, узнала я об этой школе от приятельницы - учительницы, записавшей своего сына туда.

Что делать? Что делать? Сказали до понедельника дать им знать о нашем решении.

Important Newsletter: Your students are bringing home a very important letter today in their Friday folders. This letter contains additional information from me as a follow-up to the letter from Superintendent Dr. John Schultz.



Everyday Heroes: Our positive behavior program is the buzz of the building. The students are looking at the bulletin board every morning to see who the heroes are. Students are recognized for Helping others, Earning Respect, Responsible actions and Owning their Behavior. Along with being recognized on the bulletin board, they will also be recognized on the television and receive a certificate to take home.



Grade six suggestion box: We have started a 6th grade suggestion box for students. Students will have the option of writing a note to Mrs. Bracke or myself to place in the suggestion box if they do not want to talk directly with us. Our hope is that this will help students share more information about situations that are taking place at the sixth grade level. We hope this additional form of communication will help more students feel comfortable with sharing.

А еще Левке перезвонили от superintendent-а, но он был слишком занят, чтоб говорить. Но из этого письма похоже следует, похоже, что проблемы были скорее в старших классах... Mrs. Bracke это guidance councelor вроде бы.

Пытаюсь понять, о чем речь. Не совсем понимаю, что за вопросы поднимались, и что значат ответы на них.

Hello Tanglen Parents--



In late March, a small group of parents asked to set up a meeting with me, Tanglen, and District leadership to discuss their concerns at Tanglen Elementary. I worked with this group of parents to set up a time and location to meet. The day before the meeting, I was informed that a significant number of parents were also going to attend the meeting. At the last minute, I worked with the Tanglen PTO to invite additional parents from the broader Tanglen community to the meeting. As a result, on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, approximately 100 parents gathered to discuss the strengths of, and concerns surrounding, Tanglen Elementary.

This group of spirited parents thought it was crucial that the information shared at this meeting be delivered to all members of the Tanglen community, and I want to honor their request. Enclosed (at the top of this message) you will find a list of the responses to questions which are summarized in the headings of the list. This meeting productively identified issues at Tanglen and will have a positive impact on the learning climate at Tanglen.

District administrators have met with Tanglen leadership, and systems are being examined at Tanglen by school and District administration. There have been meetings with students, staff, and parents immediately following Tuesday’s meeting to begin addressing issues related to building culture. As a result of this meeting, Tanglen will begin regular communication to share the short-term changes that will be made during this school year. For example, a realignment of paraprofessional support is underway, so that the building is better able to respond to student concerns on the playground and during lunch — both times we have identified when more behavioral concerns are occurring. Additionally, Tanglen will also share long-term changes required to maintain its vibrant and engaging learning environment.

It is comforting to know that a caring group of parents came forward to proactively address issues at their child’s schools. This meeting exemplifies all the parents of the Hopkins Public Schools. It demonstrates the ever important partnership in educating children: supportive parents!

I want to thank all of you who participated in the meeting, and I assure you that we will address the issues identified to make Tanglen an even better school for kids!!

Скажите, а чем вы кормите своих детей по утрам перед школой? Я привыкла к тому, что ребенок ест в садике и поэтому если она что у нас дома получала, так это йогурт. А теперь нужно что-то более плотное, например, овсянку или вафлю с какой-то питательной намазкой. Накидайте идей, пожалуйста.

И чтоб два раза не вставать, если ребенок у вас не покупает ланчи в школе, что вы ему даете с собой. У нас на школьном сайте говорится: "We are proud that Hopkins’ meals program has expanded fresh fruit and vegetable offerings to include local produce, whole grain products and breads, white rice has been replaced by brown rice or wild rice blends & lentils. Our student’s favorites are healthier due to low fat cheeses; reduced salt & sugar and whole grain breading; veggie dips are made with yogurt or hummus; sweet potatoes are gradually replacing oven potatoes; and our milk is certified to be free of high fructose corn syrup and rBST. These and other positive changes will continue." В принципе, это внушает доверие, но все равно как-то стремно видеть в меню пиццу и пр.
