Мне вчера об этом написал мой бывший класс.рук., живущий в Пеннсильвании. Что типа "По непроверенным данным, Буш будет завтра в 57-ой школе. Там в полный ход моют шеи." Я подумала, что это был первоапрельский стеб. А оказалось - правда!

Кстати, в эту школу ходила не только я, а еще и моя сестра, папа и дядя. И даже моя бабушка ходила в женскую гимназию, которая раньше находилась на ее месте.

Ok, so I am wondering (and I am not well versed in law, so bear with me)

If after two absolutely disasterous Gonzalez hearings, during which he contradicted himself so many times, that senators on both sides of the aisle were pretty much telling him he was lying, the Senate moves to charge Gonzalez with perjury (or whatever they can do, if not charge him with it)... So if they do that and Bush uses his power and gets him off, like he is expected to do with the White House councels when Senate holds them in contempt (as expected later this week)...

Can this be grounds for impeachment of the President? This absolute, reckless, "I will do however I please and run the country as I like no matter what you say 'cause I'm the decider" policy that he's got going; the complete ignorance of the legislative branch - is that grounds for impeachment?

PS jentos need not tell me about incomplete and run-on sentences. At this moment, I do not care so much, I am just trying to get my point/question across.

Есть у нас в Миннесоте один сенатор по имени Норм Колман (Norm Coleman). Еще тот хрен.
Когда-то он был мэром Ст. Пола. Демократическим мэром. А потом вдруг резко сменил ориентацию партийную принадлежность и стал республиканцем. Когда он второй раз баллотировался в мэры, ходили слухи, что он хочет в Сенат. И тогда он сказал, что Сенат ему нафик не нужен, что он любит лишь Ст. Пол. В 2002м году он таки выдвинул свою кандидатуру и был избран в Сенат.
В общем, приятненький такой муШШчинка, вызывающий только любовь и доверие.

Кроме всего прочего, у него с нашим Президентом такая любовь, что порой удивляешься, почему Президент так выступает против однополых браков.

Так вот, вчера этот Кросавчег выступал против Президента и его планофф послать дополнительные войска в Ирак, а сегодня он был одним из 9 сенаторов, проголосовавших ПРОТИВ резолюции, которая осуждает план Президента о вводе дополнительных войск в Ирак. Вот такой Кросавчичег!

Уххх, терпетьненавижу!

А наша новоиспеченная конгресс-вуменша Мишель Бахман тоже отличилась - вчера, как последняя (нехорошее слово), схватилась за Президентово плечо, и держалась за него 20 секунд, пока не пробралась к его физиономии и не облобызала его в щеку. Теперь по радио обсуждается, насколько неэтично и неприлично было так себя вести.

On Sunday, Tom DeLay and Bill Frist, the Republican congressional leaders, convened an emergency meeting of Congress to pass a bill that recklessly interferes in the tragedy surrounding Terri Schiavo.

Frist and DeLay claim that they're acting out of concern for Ms. Schiavo. But a memo intended only for Republican Senators--uncovered by ABC News--reveals Republicans' true concern: "The pro-life base will be excited...this is a great political issue...this is a tough issue for Democrats." This story also takes the heat off Tom DeLay, who is facing a number of serious ethics charges and legal scandals.

Americans can have different personal opinions about what should happen to Terri Schiavo--life is precious, and this case raises some important ethical questions. But we can all agree that that's what the courts are for: to make the call in difficult circumstances. That's why Congress' interference is such an ugly and shameful incident of political grandstanding.

On Sunday evening, July 18th, I'll be getting together with my neighbors to watch a new documentary film that exposes how Fox News Channel distorts the news. The movie is called "Outfoxed", and this is one of the first times it will be shown. "Outfoxed" has interviews with seven ex-Fox News employees who describe how, every day, highly partisan talking points are drawn up to influence newscasts. It's supposed to be pretty revealing as to how Fox works.

MoveOn and Common Cause members across the country are planning hundreds of house parties for Sunday, July 18th. After we watch the movie, comedian Al Franken and director Robert Greenwald will join us through a nationwide interactive conference call. It takes place through the internet, so there are live questions and responses. It's a really new technology and this is one of its first uses.
