there are thousands of people who die every minute. We cannot grieve every single one. Last month I donated money for a sick child and month before that I donated money for a cripple person.
Yet, I cannot bring myself to grieve over a death of the old person that I never knew and that never did anything major outside of his family. I am sorry, its not heartless, its just human nature. It sad how her death will be a big deal where it should be only a family matter.
well, actually, she did accomplish a lot of things in her life, like work up from a low position in the bank where she worked to become the president of that bank, a female president, nonetheless
But that's beside the point. I think that kind of a response to the news of anyone's death (unless it's a dictator and a torturer) is heartless. We all die, no matter if we are republican, democrat or independent.
I don't know if you were running for something and your grandmother died a day before the election, I would be equally as sad, and not just because you're my friend. If McCains mother had died, I would have been just as sad
Even if you were not running for something and someone you care about passed away, then regardless of how important would be your next day I would be much more sad compared to any and all the poltician's family losses. I mean, it's sad that she will not get to see her grandson winning the President's race tomorrow, but after all she is just another obituary among millions.
sure but I think for any grandmother it would be the most incredible thing in the world to see her grandson elected president. And i find it sad that she will miss that possible event
riiight, we don't have enough reasons to be sad in our actual life and immidiate surrounding, so we just have to care about complete strangers' grandmothers.
Ol'chik, people are giving you a hard time, so I decided to chime in. I'm with you on that. I think the timing is particularly sad, and I feel bad that a likely victory will be bittersweet for Obama.
