Я все сделала за полторы недели, теперь сижу и жду. И жду. И плюю в потолок. Скучно.

Date: 2004-09-01 05:28 am (UTC)Мы вот уже несколько лет собираемся "начать планировать"... в этом году мы вроде с датой (2005) определились - казалось бы самое время всерьез начать, но как? Я уже сайты все пересмотрела, а в город (где свадьба будет) попаду только в ноябре. Вот сижу тут обложенная журналами (в которых говорится что я уже опоздала со всеми подготовками) и не понимаю мне расслабиться надо или переживать что я не успеваю...

Date: 2004-09-01 12:01 pm (UTC)I only have a maid of honor, I have no centerpieces, I did not pick out china patterns, silverware or color schemes. To me all of that stuff is not important... Maybe it is to you, I don't know. I do know that most people that have a great big fancy wedding look back at it and say that they wouldn't have done it so big again, that they would have spent the money on something else, like a honeymoon.
So i'd say you should put away the magazines and relax. Just think of what is truly important to you. And it will all come.

Т.е. иногда я послушаю рассказы про свадьбы и мне очень захочется быть невестой и праздник и фотки и тп, но порыв проходит минут через 10 :))) Еще родственники чего-то вроде ждут, хотя я не могу сказать что давят... Только бабушка с грустным видом начианет - вот умру скоро и так и не увижу твою свадьбу (я младшая внучка, братья уже женаты). Но и это тоже не главное...
я по-моему какая-то отстраненная невеста :)))

All I got was:
dress, rings, headpiece (from Ebay), bouquet, a blusher (a small veil that hooks into your hair in the back $18 instead of a normal $150 veil), photographer (a family friend), the video will be shot by friends and then we will edit it, civil ceremony with a Jewish judge (so we'll have some traditional touches), wedding is outside in a park (so I had to pay for a permit), reception in a russian restaurant banquet style, therefore the music also comes from the restaurant, my throw bouquet is made of silk flowers, I have no centerpieces, no limo, but we're getting an SUV from a friend to use that night, we each have only 1 witness, no favors (pointless crap anyway)
Did I forget anything? I dunno. But the most expensive part of it is the reception, and since we limited the number of people, it's gonna cost about 4K. The rest is another 1.5 or so. It seems to me that we will have pretty much everything we want with no extras that we don't need.

The biggest problem for me - to find a place for the reception. We will have about the same amount of people... The problem is that I don't actually know the city where the wedding will take place, my parents live there, but we don't...(And needless to say that when I visit my parents we don't go out but rather do stuff at home ;-)))
How did you decide on a restaurant? is it the usual place you/Leva/your/his family would go to for a family celebration?
Plus it's gonna be in March so it will probably be an inside thing. Another problem is - we're getting the papers done in CO, so there will not be any "official" ceremony. I was thinking that we should do some ceremony just for the sake of having to say "i do" and maybe reading the vows (or even writing our own vows). But then again I'm not sure I can manage all that so that the ceremony would look nice and natural...

Date: 2004-09-01 09:24 pm (UTC)About the ceremony. If you have a normal civil ceremony, it usually takes place in a courtroom. You say your I do's right there. We were even planning on having a very small ceremony on Friday (just parents and grandparents) and then the reception on saturday. But then we found out that judges will perform a wedding on saturday as well, and when I was able to find the wedding site, we decided on a saturday. I just didn't want to have a wedding in a courthouse. But if you're doing the 'very small thing', then you might as well do the courthouse thing, and then go to wherever your parents live and have a reception there. It can even be 2 different days (that way you get to wear your gown twice)
there's no point in having another ceremony, unless you want to keep it a secret from everyone that you already got married. (I know someone who did that)

Date: 2004-09-01 09:57 pm (UTC)В Колорадо чтобы пожениться не нужен никакой судья. Вообще нужно только две подписи - жениха и невесты. И никто ничего не должен засвидетельствовать - сами себя жените если хотите, проще чем в Вегасе :))) Поэтому всякие "I do" и клятвы говорить не обязательно... Вот я и думаю - если не обязательно то и не нужно? или я потом жалеть буду и стоит придумать какой-то сценарий просто "чтоб было".
Кстати про 2 дня ты мне классную идею дала. Можно тогда будет в пятницу сделать церемонию дома у родителей...И число которое попадает на пятницу мне больше нравится - чтоб потом годовщины отмечать :)))
Правда гостей наверно будет столько же, так как большинство иногородние и приедут заранее. Но сделать накануне церемонию (и надеть "платье" :))) и просто побыть с разными друзьями было бы правильно. Тем более что девичника и мальчишника скорее всего не будет, у нас нету такого четкого деления "у меня подруги у него друзья", скорее общие или мои и все почему-то одни мальчики кроме одной подруги в России.... (В России у меня почему-то были одни девочки, а тут как-то наоборот получается :)
(ты прости - если я тебя утомила, то можем закончить. Просто я искренне восхищаюсь твоей решимостью - за месяц организовать то, что я пытаюсь уже пару лет провернуть (и пока не особо продвинулась)) Хочется тоже набраться решимости и в бой!!!! :)))

Date: 2004-09-02 02:00 pm (UTC)Скажу еще пару слов о ресторане. you get more for your money в русском ресторане. Там не нужно выбирать "chicken or fish", там все в банкетном стиле, куча закусок, холодных и горячих, шашлыки, киевские котлеты, и тд
Если вы отмечаете в Бостоне, я рекомендую вам ресторан Одесса. Там хорошо и вкусно. Спроси
Кондитерскую я вам рекомендую "Konditormeister", там самые вкусные торты. Особенно strawberry grand marnier.
