TONIGHT'S SEMINAR

Topic: Raising Bilingual Kids with Dr. Kendall King,
co-author of the popular parenting book The Bilingual Edge

Kendall King is an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota’s
Department of Curriculum and Instruction in Second Languages and Cultures
Education. Her research encompasses ideological, interactional and policy
perspectives on second language learning and bilingualism, with particular
attention to educational practices impacting language use among minority
populations in Latin America and Spanish speakers in the U.S.
She is also an editor of the journal Language Policy (Springer) and co-author of
the popular parenting book, The Bilingual Edge (with Dr. Alison Mackey,
HarperCollins). Their book translates the latest research into interactive
strategies and quick tips that even the busiest parents can use.

Dr. King will speak on the topic of raising bilingual children in a parent friendly
presentation followed by audience Q&A.
